Do it all with a phone call

Timing of mashups is everything. Connecting the dots or in this case connecting the websites between Dial2do and posterous. Some months ago I signed up to use Dial2do which simply allows one to dial a number, say what I want done, and Dial2do does it. Currently they connect with my social media apps with just a phone call:

Say your message and the connected application reacts accordingly. The mashup occurs when you call through dial2do to your posterous email address which forwards the audio message now converted to text to multiple social media websites. "...dead simple place to post everything"...via posterous.

Posterous sends text post to:

• Twitter
• Facebook
• FriendFeed
• Delicious
• three different blogs

An extra feature with posterous is that you can send written emails with photo and/or video attachments which can post to Flickr, Picasa, YouTube and Vimeo. Here's the result of one call creating three blogs posts:

• Blogger
• Posterous
• WordPress

Overkill, you bet. But another example of the interconnection of social media sites for our convenience. Much thanks to Todd's Internet Marketing Words of Wisdom blog for triggering the connection I could make between dial2do/posterous.
