Make a fool of yourself to reduce stage fright and be a more engaging speaker

1ca32bb.jpg Thanks to Chris Brogan, President at New Marketing Labs, for his comments at the New Media Atlanta Conference 2009. SPOILER ALERT-XXX profanity which wasn't too bad. And to Olivia Mitchell, Speaking about Presenting blogger, for bringing this to my attention.

A few Twitter-sized comments from @chrisbrogan:

  • Connect before you need it
  • Give your ideas handles
  • Listen, ask, reciprocate, comment, comment back
  • "Answer the social media phone" quoting Marcel Lebrun
  • No king ordered a revolution
  • Connecting with people not meaningful, doing something with connections meaningful
And one a bit longer, in the sales cycle don't be so impatient and think you won't be heard by the customer that you rush the process. As Chris said speaking as the customer; 'I want to shake your hand and you stick your tongue in my mouth.'

Thanks for the visual, Chris.
